London cocktail week – Highlights

Well..where to start with this years London Cocktail week…

First up…

Old Spitalfields Market was packed with excitement and all things cocktail!

This beautifully authentic stand is packed with all things gin, I sampled everything from Bramble to Ham and Mustard Gin (which by the way is like drinking gin and eating smoked ham at the same time…amazing!) They were serving up lapsang G&T’s, Sloe Gin Negronis and much much more!

If you’re not already familiar with Sipsmith they are a fantastic London based distillery, creating top of the range spirits including a London Dry Gin, V.J.O.P (Very Junipery Over Proof gin), Sloe Gin, Summer Cup, Vodka and Damson Vodka. Be sure to check them out or even book yourself in for a distillery tour to meet Prudence and the rest of the team!

Fever-Tree G&T barFT bar

Fever-Tree teamed up with Deco Noir in Old Spitalfields Market and this lively bar was busy all evening as I’m sure it was for the rest of the week too! Serving a delicious range of classic cocktails featuring many of Fever-Tree’s mixers.

Fever-Tree have a splendid array of all natural mixers which seem to make all their cocktails far too sippable!

If you didn’t get a chance to visit them during cocktail week they are sure to be popping up somewhere near you soon. Their G&T bar seems to always be on the go!

Pococellopococello

Are you a limoncello fan?

Pococello was something new to me but I’ve been longing to try it! They had a great little yellow van and plenty of fun and tasters for everyone in Old Spitalfields Market.

So who are they and what is it?

Chase Distillery and Pizza Pilgrims (two of my favourite things!) have come together to create Pococello. They use Amalfi lemons with England’s finest potato based spirit, hand-crafted in small batches.

Delicious on its own or with a dash of tonic too!

House of Angosturahouse of angostura

Angostura had a great spot up on the balcony looking over the hub of Spitalfields market. I felt very superior up there!

From their Angostura Aromatic Bitters – THE original bitters – to their delicious range of rums, Angostura is an essential part of any cocktail cabinet.

Alongside some of their signature serves, Angostura were also featuring a guest bartender doing guest shifts at the bar throughout the week. As well as this they had their exclusive pop up house party with live DJ sets.

World Class BarIMG_1244IMG_1246

Set in a vinyl factory in the heart of Soho is another Cocktail week hub and this one was headed up by World Class.

Here, they have something for everyone; from the curious newcomer to seasoned cocktail lovers alike. We spent our evening tasting, sampling and creating delicious spirits and cocktails. The Ketel One Vodka Kitchen was in full swing and the guys at Tanqueray Art Deco Bar created the best Gin Sours and French 75 I think I’ve ever tasted!

There was still so much to explore so let’s hope next year is even bigger and better! In the mean time…we’ve heard its Rumfest this week!?
